Back in March, Stream Energy was featured on Patch because of their various philanthropy efforts across the state of Texas. When Hurrican Harvey hit, it was estimated that it damaged or destroyed nearly 135,000 homes and that nearly 13 million people were affected. However, Stream Energy stepped up and was one of the first companies to fund recovery efforts in Houston. They not only funded recovery efforts, but they also reduced the financial burden for their customers. However, their philanthropy efforts have its advantages.
As they continue to give and aid organizations, people, and customers, they also gain loyalty and respect in the public eye, potentially leading to more customers and a safeguard when profit falls or scandals arise. An example of their trust was when they were awarded Texas’s Top 10 Most Trusted Retail Electric Providers. Nonetheless, Stream Energy has always been genuinely committed to giving back to the community, hence the launch of Stream Cares. Through Stream Cares, the company provides support and resources to various local charities and non-profit organizations.
Stream Energy has built long-term relationships with organizations such as Habitat for Humanity and the American Red Cross. However, Stream Energy deepest commitment is caring for the homeless. Both the company and its employees keep track of how many people are homeless in the Dallas area. For this reason, Stream has partnered with Hope Supply co. to cover entrance and meal costs for over 1,000 homeless children at Splash for Hope. The Splash for Hope event brings in homeless children from North Texas to a local water park. At the event Stream contributes to Hope Supply’s effort to give the children an experience of a lifetime, while also providing supplies and money. Stream Energy has worked closely with Hope Supply co. for the past four years, as they routinely give homeless children diapers, clothing, school supplies and more.
As has been noted, Patch has given recognition to Stream’s continuous philanthropy efforts. They are also looking for news was to give back to the community, showing the heart of the company.
